Porsche 911 Turbo S

We're going to shift gears for a moment to recognize and congratulate Porsche for taking the win in the 2017 24 Hours of LeMans last weekend, gutting it out in a battle of attrition that saw most of the top LMP1 cars fail to complete the race. And so we'll take a break in our review of fast Ferrari's to take a look at the "only" current Porsche street car to make it into Club 200 mph, the fabulous 911 Turbo S. We say "only" because almost all of the other S-model 911 variants are capable of at least 190 mph, and some (like the non-S Turbo and the manual gearbox GT3) claim to go 199. Close, but unfortunately, no cigar for this review.

Generating 572 horsepower from its 3.8 liter, twin-turbo flat 6, the Turbo S is both quick and fast.

Visually striking in silhouette, the 911 in Turbo form remains one of the most sought-after supercars on the market. The design by Michael Mauer is simply iconic.
