The Design of Speed

Club 200 mph has more than a few members from Detroit, surprisingly enough. First up is the Cadillac CTS-V sedan, which boasts the most powerful engine ever put in a Cadillac: a supercharged, 6.2 liter V8 packing 640 horsepower.

The CTS-V is sometimes called the "four-door Corvette" because it has the same engine as the Z06 Corvette. Interestingly, Chevrolet claims that same Corvette has a top speed of "only" 185 mph, making the CTS-V the fastest of all the General Motors cars.

Styling is not the Cadillac's long suite, although to be fair, the car looks much better in the flesh than on the page. Still, the tacked on, flat black spoiler and slab sides won't win any beauty contests. And the stubby deck seems as if the stylists were undecided about making this is a fast back sedan or a notchback. None of that matters when the throttle is flattened.
